The Sponsorship Program
If you would like to sponsor a child or if you have questions about child sponsorship, contact Jennifer Spatara

What does God expect of us?
The poor and the children have always had a special place in God's heart. He challenges us to bring his Good News to them and to share our God-given resources with them.

Can I truly help the fatherless?
Through GCM's program of Child Sponsorship you can help disciple and support a poor child in Guatemala. You will know him or her by name. You can pray, write letters of encouragement, send Christian literature, visit, feed, clothe, house and educate this young person that so desperately needs you.

How does the program work?
You will receive an annual photo and history sheet of your child. They will be writing you during the year and at Christmas. They are interested in knowing about you. You will represent a stability in their lives that they have missed.

How can I fully participate?
In addition to providing the child's basic needs, you can communicate with the child (we handle the translations), send money for birthday and Christmas gifts, and even visit the child in Guatemala. You can be involved as little or as much as you wish.

What is the cost?
A child sponsorship is $30 per month. Each child needs several sponsors because it costs over $200 per month per child to maintain the program.

Can I help in other ways?
Many people help by making contributions directly to the home, helping support the missionaries, or providing for special needs.

What your Dollar Provides
  1. A loving Christian environment for about 80 boys and girls, ages 2 to 18. Some are orphans; some from broken homes with no father. All suffered extreme poverty.
  2. A Christian education in our Agua Viva School (K-6) and tuition to off-campus secondary schools. English and computer classes are now provided.
  3. Maintenance of our 14-acre site and buildings located 36 miles outside of Guatemala City in Chimaltenango. Here the children are able to run and play in the country. Your dollars also provide basic food, clothing, electricity, gas, water, education, transportation, recreation and the Guatemalan staff salaries. American staff raise their own support.
  4. Health and dental care for the children for the first time in their lives.
  5. Biblically-based instruction in Christian living and doctrine, church attendance, character development through assigned responsibilities, and training to prepare the children for the future.
